I recently had a client come to me with a dilemma. She was able to have a long weekend with her husband in 3 weeks but had no where to go! They wanted to do something with the time they had since they know it is few and far between with kids at home. I was provided with a few guidelines: either Maine or Washington State, a romantic setting, budget of up to $3,000, and the possibility of going to Canada for a day trip. So off to work I went!
For quotes, I send off three options. To start, I looked at flight possibilities to determine which area to provide 2 options as there would be more wiggle room in the budget for different resorts or hotels. From their airport, it was cheaper to fly to Seattle than Portland, Maine, so Washington was where I started. Looking at the state map, I looked at some coastal towns, mountain towns, and the outskirts of Seattle. There were some amazing resorts but these are the two that I sent to my client.
Suncadia Resort
Located in Cle Elum, Washington, about 90 minutes from Seattle, this resort had almost everything on their list. The one thing that was missing was easy access to Canada, but that was not a non-negotiable so I was adding this immediately! It is a perfect spot to get cozy with your partner, rekindle your relationship, and just have some fun together!

Willows Lodge
This beautiful resort was the perfect fit for their requirements. Located 30 minutes from downtown Seattle, Willows Lodge has an incredibly intimate setting and, if they were wanting, an Amtrak station is in Seattle that has daily trains to Vancouver for an easy day trip. Being in Woodinville, this location is amazing as you can easily have a city vacation or more of a mountainous adventure depending on what you are feeling. Or a little bit of both. It’s your trip!

Berry Manor Inn
Now heading over to Maine. This inn has been voted for many years as the most romantic hotel so I could not pass adding this to their quote. Located in the lobster capital of the world Rockland, Maine, this provides a completely different vibe from the Washington locations, but still fits what my clients were looking for. Saint John, New Brunswick, is a 4 hour car ride for a day trip to Canada, the inn has an intimate setting, and the town is walkable along the Atlantic Ocean.
